‘The movement of glaciers escapes the notice of the tourist’s untrained eye. However, we know that they are far from being inert.’
Maurice Constantin-Weyer, Le flâneur sous la Tente, 1935.
This dissertation is as much about urban study as it is about its subjects, who themselves raise issues of ethnicity, culture, social fabric, commerce and economics. It is a personal impression of contemporary London, not a detached analysis. It is this personal approach that I hope will enrich and give an objective and perhaps unfamiliar perspective from the research that I have conducted, and the conclusions that I have come to.
The study also touches on the urban condition, stereotype threat, behavior confirmation, salary confirmation and the neuro-visual/neuro-audio programming effects of 1 dimensional media devices such as the television and cinema.
